Drink of the Week: Strawberry Julep

Welcome to MxMo XXVIII! This month's theme is bourbon and I'm happy to (re)introduce you to the Strawberry Julep.

Strawberry Julep
In a mixing glass, muddle together 2-3 strawberries with 2 sprigs of mint. Add 3 ounces of your favorite bourbon . Strain over crushed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and a strawberry.

I'm sure that there are some people recoiling in horror at the twist on tradition, but this looks just perfect to me - especially after those hot temperatures last week!

Well, I figure since I hew to tradition on so many things: gin martinis, rye manhattans, etc. Thought that gave me a little leeway to go a little crazy on this one.

Woah, this drink looks awesome. I just posted a strawberry daiquiri recipe, but I'll have to check this one out too.
